To me, knowing who you really are is the most important thing in our lives. Because you can the live your life to the utmost after you know what’s the real you, the authentic with integrity you.
That’s what makes you special around this world. You are invaluable, unique and nobody can replace you. You’d be amazed how great you would become if you clarify who you really are and be you. Many of you just haven’t realized it yet.
You see, what really changed my life was the moment I realized I wasn’t the person who I think I am. I was the person who I think society think I should be. Then I took actions spending almost half year to find out who I am and start being myself. This totally change my life.
The biggest thing I’ve been telling myself is there is only one life. and this one life is too short to be somebody else. I can’t imagine when my last day comes, what would the future me be telling myself if I wasn’t living my life nor realizing my dream goals.
Under current education system, we are taught to behave a certain way, we are told to get good grades, go to great school, and work a fantastic job with awesome salary. Then get married, buy house, get car, have kids and you probably already knew this before I tried to raised more examples.
What’s more, after we get the job which society deem to be “successful” job, usually by the salary you get, and how big is the company. As you put more and more efforts and contribute a lot of value, you got promoted and your salary is raised. Everything seems pretty good but somehow you’re not fulfilled.
There’s always a feeling about there’s more out there for you. And that future you are living your life with way less worries, it’s so much better.
So you thought, ok when you gain certain amount of money then you’ll start living my live. When you get enough skill sets, and you’ll start to live my life, or building your business and be the boss instead of working for bosses. When you prepare enough resources and being able to provide a comfortable environment for my family, then I’ll start realize my dream goal.
Then you forget your dream life, your dream goal.
……and who you really are. Because you can’t be you if you want to survive in this job you’re working now. There’s a specific pattern you need to follow so as to ensure yourself being at a good position at work.
Imagine there’s a pyramid system existing in the company you’re working at the moment. It seems the upper level you can get yourself in, the more successful you’ll be defined by your friends, your family, or simply put, the society.
Those who work at relative bottom part of the pyramid doesn’t mean they work less, they probably are smarter than a lot of people at the upper part and have contributed more value to the company.
Why do they never get chance to be promoted? It’s might just because they’re not good at telling stories, transforming the boring, cold analysis reports to an attractive, vivid format to managers so they’re never seen.
These people are like diamond in the rough. Do you know how much better can they become after cutting and polishing?
Truth be told, most of you are diamond in the rough as well and you just didn’t know. You worth so much more than what you have in your mind right now.
You’re blinded by the current valuation system and put what others think about you and wrongly define yourself. Ask yourself, who you really are? What’s the thing that makes you special? The very thing that differentiate from others?
Nothing can be scarier then you’re living the life others tell you to(your family, your parents, the society) and you thought it is you who wants to live that life. Think carefully, it’s never too late to start making change.
If nothing pop up in your mind now, think first about what’s the different thing about you comparing with others. Then take advantage of that difference and be you. Create the most valuable and authentic you.
There are massive resources out there that can help you to live the life you want. Contact me if you haven’t found any. I’ll give you what I personally utilize(that actually works) to help me living the life I want. Because sentences like “there’s no resources that’s suitable for me.”, “I don’t have any skill sets.” etc. are just excuses that people use when they don’t want to take action.
You only live once and this life is too short to be somebody else. To live your life you’ve dreamt? Start by first small step.
Now, forget about others thoughts and words, ask yourself, who you really are?
