Today I want to share with you awesome mindset that I learnt which is necessary to bear in mind when you face rejection, feel down because you didn’t see any results after your hard work in your 9-5 job.
I personally think this is helpful in terms of this pump me up when I feel down because I didn’t see any results after spending lots efforts, hard work, money, and time. Tho i’m keep producing contents , taking actions, and so on and so forth. Over a period of time, and there’s no satisfying results, I’m upset and the only thing I want to do is to stick on my bean bag and let Netflix watch me. Yes exactly like the moment when you just don’t feel like to do anything but lying on your bed.
So by knowing the important mindset mentioned below will get the ambitious you up again. Every time I remind myself of that, I got pumped and then can start taking action again happily.
Never make decision for other party. Value is subjective.
Everybody has his/her taste. Meaning they are going to say yes(or no) to you because of their own preferences. There are millions of variables that affect whether an individual would like to say yes or no to you. You cant control every factors. Therefore, change those that you can control, and let go of those you cannot control.
People say no to your product/service is not a direct indicator of who you are as a person.
Just because people said no to you doesn’t mean you suck. It doesn’t mean your production stink, neither does it mean you’re not good at all. It simply means your production at the moment, for the very person you were talking with.
The yes and no decision might be affected by what happened to the very person who have right to make decision that day. He/She might be late for work because of stupid heavy traffic and got yelled by boss. Or they have a fight with their spouse in the morning before the meeting with you. Or they have several bills that needed to be paid. And so on and so forth. These might be the reason why those people say no to your product or service. It has almost nothing to do with you as a person.
There are complex variables. And there are simple variables. For instance, a company gave their business to you maybe because they want to diversify their vendors. Congratulations good for you! For another instance, an employee working for company A got yelled at by his manager for not having enough service B, which is the service you’ve been selling or promoting. And they chose you and gave you their business but not other counterparts. Or a company gave you their business simply because you thought of the idea the like but other didn’t.
Same thing, your boss didn’t approve your project that you’ve spent tons of efforts, time, and sacrifices of being absent with your family/loved ones on may because of several reasons. Hundreds of variables out there. And you know what, there’s no need to overthink or blaming of yourself.
The fact that you’re not seeing fabulous results at the beginning doesn’t mean you suck. Go back and see the results again after you’ve pitched 300 times. Got chances to manage project but not being applied by your boss in the end? It’s alright. Find where and how can you optimize methods you’ve been applying.
You keep pitching. Be action taker and keep executing your plan.
It’s not like you take action and then boom, succeed immediately. But more like, try this description—do A/B test—okay Plan A worked and Plan B not as good. So you delete plan B and start plan A and come up with plan C. If plan C is better, you substitute plan A for plan C . The decision you made also is affected by the time you have.
You see, There’s no textbook answer saying “method A works the best while method B works better for making your boss say yes.” Tho I had mentors providing suggestions, but there’s no guarantee that what they said will definitely work. Just gotta try it myself. Same for anyone else. Some people might progress faster some people don’t.
The fact that you got into final pitch to your boss, your potential customers are saying you’re stepping on the right track of success. Therefore, stop negative voice in your mind that you’re not good enough.
But if, after hundreds times of trying, you’re not appreciated and valued in the company you’re working for. Somehow the company, the boss, just living in their world and ignore all the contribution, and all the sacrifices you’ve made for the company. What I suggest you do is to think what are you working so hard for. Are what you’re working your face off align with the life you want to live?
